Deanery Vocations Mass

Earlier this evening at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Lancaster the Deanery Vocations Mass was celebrated. The word ‘Deanery’ of course meaning that Priests and Parishioners from various Parishes in the Lancaster Deanery were present at Mass, infact a large portion of the congregation were from our Parish of Blessed John Henry Newman in Morecambe!

In the picture above the Vocations Director for the Diocese of Lancaster Fr Darren Carden can be seen preaching the Homily. He urged the congregation to pray for an increase in Priestly Vocations for the Diocese. Fr Darren also said that God has a different vocation for each one of us, whether it be Priesthood, Religious Life, Marriage and Family Life, Single Life and it’s up to us to ask God what he wants us to do. What is my Vocation?

Above all:

“Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he send labourers into his harvest.”
