St Peter’s Deanery – Fatima celebrations


 

 

 

 

 

Saturday May 13th was the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima. Deanery celebrations took place at St Peter’s Cathedral in Lancaster. This year also marked the100th anniversary of Our Lady’s first apparition at Fatima!


 

 

 

 

 

The celebrations started at 11:00am with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The Sarament of Reconciliation (Confession) was also available. This was followed by the Rosary at 11:30am. The time of Exposiiton concluded with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.


 

 

 

 

 

Then at 12:15pm Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr Philip Conner who is the appointed Dean of this Deanery. Fr Steve Pearson and Fr Andrew Dawson from the Cathedral concelebrated at the Mass.


 

 

 

 

 

After Mass a procession around the Cathedral took place, this was followed by a Prayer of Consecration and the singing of the Salve Regina which is one of the four Marian Antiphons.


 

 

 

 

 

The Dean thanked everyone for attending including the choir which had members from different Parishes in the Deanery. Refreshments followed in the Social Centre.
